We were first drawn to this property because of its exceptional location. Being able to walk to Regent's Park - one of London's most beautiful green spaces - has been a daily luxury. With excellent transport links close by, we could reach Soho or King's Cross in minutes. The neighbourhood is filled with top-rated schools, great restaurants, entertainment, and every convenience you could need.
For families, this area is truly special. The home offers a wonderfully usable outdoor space, and having such a vast, world-class park on the doorstep gives children a unique, nature-rich upbringing in the heart of the city. Countless playgrounds, open space, and excellent schools all within walking distance make life easy and fulfilling.
We chose this property over others because it blends period charm with modern practicality. Although it looks like a classic mid-terrace home, it was rebuilt as a replica and is not Grade II listed - which means modern layouts, double-glazed windows, energy efficiency, lower maintenance, and lower insurance.
The home also carries a lovely history. Before us, it was owned by a judge and his wife, a Feng Shui master who extended the kitchen with natural flow in mind. We continued that philosophy, creating a calming, light-filled space with skylights, an evergreen tropical garden, and a glass-covered terrace for year-round indoor-outdoor living. Our SieMatic kitchen (installed 2022) with Siemens StudioLine appliances was designed for both Asian and European cooking, complete with a teppanyaki plate, gas hob, induction, steam ovens, and a built-in coffee station. It is the heart of our home, and the adjoining glass veranda became our favourite place to entertain - including hosting a surprise engagement on Guy Fawkes Night.
One of our proudest additions is the wine cellar, visible through glass doors in the basement vault - a beautiful blend of classic character and modern luxury.
The ideal next owners could be almost anyone - families, professionals, or anyone who values quick access to the city, parks, schools, and shopping. But we know a warm family would be a wonderful addition to this caring street.
We are leaving because we have moved back to Asia after our children completed their education in London. What we will miss most are the neighbours, the convenience, and of course... the wine cellar.
