"I love this home for it characteristics and Victorian charm. It's a place I have made into a sanctuary of style, design and comfort. It's a place to be social in the summer and a restful hideaway in the winter. I love spending time having my morning coffee in the kitchen with the sun on my face to getting cosy in front of the fire over the autumn and winter months. For me, it's my safe space, a place to think and a place to shut off, in equal measure."

The home

A Victorian terraced home on Shaftesbury Avenue in Montpelier, showing off plenty of features and stylish finishes. Entrance is into the hallway, and living room is on your right. This room benefits from a bay window, chimney breast and picture rails. A sizeable storage cupboard is found in the corner of the room. The kitchen/dining area is at the back of the house, starting with the dining room. Hardwood flooring is underfoot, and double doors leads to the south facing courtyard garden. Shaftesbury Avenue is a quiet residential street in Montpelier. Close to Cheltenham and Gloucester Road, this home has some of Bristol’s best independent cafes and restaurants on its doorstep, including The Bristolian, The Crafty Egg, Bianchi’s Italian, Wangs, and Caper and Cure. The house is also a short walk from popular pubs including The Wiper and True taproom, The Star and Garter, and The Canteen - which hosts regular live music nights. Montpelier is a creative and cultural hub, with several artists, ceramicists, and makers working in and around Picton Street. Try your hand at pottery with Terra Pottery Café, take up a dance class at Hamilton House or try life drawing at Jamaica Street Studios. If you’re after green space, the house is a short walk from St Andrews Park in Bishopston and Narroways Nature Reserve in St Werburghs, which offers sweeping views out across Bristol.
