Seller Insight
“We moved here over 40 years ago, seeking a spacious family house in a village. Treetops fulfilled everything we wanted and more and has been our much loved family home ever since.”
“It’s a very versatile property. Over the years, we’ve adapted the rooms to suit our changing needs. and has worked perfectly for multi-generational living. At one point, our elderly parents moved in, and we were able to split the ground-floor accommodation to give them a self-contained living area with its own entrance.
“The house and gardens are south-facing, so every room benefits from plenty of natural light. Being surrounded by mature gardens means we enjoy the changing seasons right from our windows, which has always been a real pleasure.”
“We understand that the property was once the village doctor’s house. The room we now use as a study still has the original terracotta floor from when it was used as a surgery, which adds a wonderful sense of history. Previous owners extended the house to create additional living space and bedrooms, yet the original parquet flooring has been retained in the two bedrooms in the older part of the house which we’ve always cherished.”
“Over the years, we’ve continued to upgrade and improve the property. This year, we installed a new boiler, and all the windows have been replaced with double-glazed uPVC units for warmth and low maintenance. We also added a new en-suite shower room a few years ago and updated the family bathroom.”
“The gardens are very special, we have enjoyed many a warm evening by the gazebo. They are also something of a wildlife haven we have visiting hedgehogs and rabbits and even the occasional roe deer or muntjaks. Last year we noted 23 types of birds including green and spotted woodpeckers, a pair of buzzards, a sparrow hawk and a heron.”
“It’s a peaceful place to live, yet everything you need is close at hand — from shops and local amenities to excellent schools. The village itself has a fantastic primary school, with grammar schools in Sleaford and Grantham easily accessible. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful farm shop nearby, a family-run business offering a deli, meat counter, florist, garden centre, and coffee shop. For anything beyond the village, Sleaford is just five minutes away, with Grantham and Lincoln within easy reach, making Treetops perfectly positioned for both village life and easy access to the surrounding towns.”
