Description
Oakley Grange is a fine detached house, offering accommodation that is both versatile and of great proportions. We understand that he house was originally constructed in 1967 and there are some notable features. These include a sweeping staircase with curved balustrade in the reception hall, which is of a size that gives the house great "gravitas".
The theme of curves is also prevalent in many of the rooms, including the fine drawing room. The house, from the rear, has the appearance of symmetry, with two balconies off the two principle bedrooms, both of which enjoy a super view over the garden and land beyond. The accommodation, on the ground floor, consists of the reception hall, a cloakroom, study, drawing room, dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, "garden room" or play room (complete with bar) and a ground floor double bedroom and bathroom. On the first floor, there is a vast landing, replicating the reception hall, leading to the master bedroom suite. This also contains a dressing room/suite bathroom. The guest bedroom also has a dressing room and shower and there are two further bedrooms, along with a main, family bathroom.
The house is approached via a gated and long driveway, with its land either side. There is parking for numerous vehicles on the driveway and there is also a double garage, with log store/boot room behind. This affords access to the garden room. The principle garden includes a large terrace adjacent to the house, with an attractive, formal area beyond. The rest of the land is primarily paddock land, laid to grass. N B The vendors had previously obtained planning permission for the erection of a stable in the paddock, ref plan no. PS/16/02724/FUL. Whilst this has now lapsed, the vendors did have a concrete base inserted. For further details, please contact the office.
