Blair Atholl lies at the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, where the Rivers Tilt and Garry meet. The village is a popular and desirable location, well regarded for its impressive surrounding countryside.

Local facilities include a garage and shop, primary school, the Atholl Arms Hotel, Blair Castle, a doctor’s surgery, hairdresser, licensed grocer, and a village hall. The River Tilt runs close by and offers salmon fishing. Sporting and recreational amenities include a bowling club and the Blair Atholl Golf Club. The village is also home to Scotland’s oldest working watermill, powered by the River Tilt. It is a pleasant spot to stop for coffee or lunch and to watch the traditional production of stone ground oatmeal and flour.
