WHAT THE OWNER SAYS
"We bought this house back in 1963, and what first drew us to Ryegate Crescent was the location. Being close to work, within reach of good schools, and having the open spaces of the Peak District nearby made it feel like the perfect place to settle. But it was the view across the city from the garden that really sealed it for us. Over the years, that view has changed dramatically as the city has grown and evolved, but it has never lost its appeal. We still find ourselves stopping to take it in, whether it’s first thing in the morning or as the lights come on across the city in the evening, it never gets old.

One thing that has remained constant is the sense of community. From the day we moved in, everyone was so friendly, and that warmth has stayed with us throughout the years. It’s been a wonderful place to call home for such a long time.”

The welcoming hallway provides useful storage, with a cloak cupboard and space tucked away under the stairs to keep things organised, before opening up to the main ground floor rooms. To the front of the property, the dining room is a fantastic space for both family life and entertaining, with a bay window that fills the room with light, a chimney breast adding character, and plenty of room for a large dining table where friends and family can comfortably gather.

At the rear of the house, the living room enjoys peaceful views over the garden and offers a lovely place to relax at the end of the day. There’s ample space for comfortable seating, and the sliding doors make this a room that really connects with the outside, allowing you to open everything up on warmer days and enjoy the garden outlook all year round. The kitchen sits just off the living space and is well laid out in a practical C-shape, with direct access out to the garden, ideal for summer meals, kids playing outside, or simply popping out with a morning coffee.

Upstairs, the main double bedroom to the front features a bay window and built-in wardrobes, creating a bright and calm retreat. To the rear, the second double bedroom enjoys stunning elevated views towards the city centre, while the third bedroom, currently ideal as a nursery or home office, benefits from the same impressive outlook. A modern bathroom with a large shower cubicle and useful storage is complemented by a separate WC, which works particularly well for busy mornings.

Outside, the home continues to impress. The front garden is low maintenance, while to the side there is a shared driveway providing parking for one car, conveniently positioned next to the rear garden. The east-facing garden is a real highlight, with a patio area directly off the house for outdoor dining and entertaining, leading onto a generous lawn bordered by established flowerbeds. It’s a space that works brilliantly for families, offering room to play and relax without feeling overwhelming to maintain and provides a peaceful, green backdrop to daily life.

Crosspool is an incredibly popular suburb west of Sheffield City Centre. Its popularity is due to its easy access to the city centre, many hospitals and both universities as well as the surrounding stunning countryside including Redmires Reservoirs, Wyming Brook, Rivelin Valley and even Ladybower Reservoir. Another attractive feature is the local schools that are rather good and outstanding by Ofsted for all ages. Within Crosspool there are fantastic independent cafes, coffee shops, butchers, a pharmacy, a dentist, and hairdressers as well as GT News, Tesco and Spar.
