Woodland House is constructed of Ham stone under a slate roof and dates back to the 18th century, originally being two properties and at one point a boarding house for the local school which closed in the late 1990s.

The house underwent an extensive renovation in 2000 by the renowned local builders, C G FRY and Son. This spacious house extends to about 3866 Sq ft with accommodation arranged over three floors.

Described by architectural historian, Sir Nikolaus Pevsner, as one of the most attractive small towns in Dorset, Beaminster is surrounded by glorious unspoilt rolling countryside, much of which is a designated National Landscape where strict planning controls have preserved its rural character.

The town is vibrant with an excellent range of shops both independent and national, several restaurants and pubs, vet and doctors surgeries.

A short distance to the south of the town lies the Georgian town of Bridport with a further excellent range of facilities including a Waitrose supermarket and a weekly street market.
