You will have time to budget, save and optimise your credit score in readiness for securing a mortgage when you are ready to buy.

You will need to be working with a regular income (as this will be needed to obtain a mortgage when you come to purchase) and have a minimum of £5,000 saved to secure the right to buy. You will need to ensure that the rent is affordable with any extra payments needed to save towards a deposit to purchase.
