An immaculately presented three-bedroom house with far-reaching views of the South Downs, a secluded garden, garage and driveway.

Chatsworth Close is tucked away off Ambleside Avenue in Peacehaven, only a ten-minute walk from the Undercliff Walk that runs along the coast from Telscombe Beach to Peacehaven Cliffs. Alternatively, you can head up onto the Downs – or towards the River Ouse.

At the end of the close, this terraced house has its own driveway and garage, set back behind a lawn and small patio. Once inside, you step into a light and spacious hallway, which widens to accommodate a turning staircase to the first floor. The living and dining room spans the full width of the house at the rear and has double doors and a large curved bay window overlooking the garden, with views to the South Downs beyond. The room is over six metres wide and comfortably accommodates both living and dining areas. Oak-effect flooring runs seamlessly between the two spaces and into the hallway.
The house has been completely redecorated by its current owners, who have also carried out significant renovations. These include the installation of an Ideal combination boiler with new pipework, Howdens oak internal doors, and new sockets (many with USB ports). The radiators are large double convectors throughout, chosen to keep the house warm during the winter months. New carpets were laid in 2023 and have been carefully maintained. The house is fully double-glazed.

The Howdens kitchen was professionally fitted in May 2023 and features two integrated Whirlpool electric ovens – one is an oven with grill and the other a combination oven with microwave. The induction hob has a concealed cooker hood. Additional features include an integrated Indesit dishwasher, an integrated bin cupboard, space for a full-height fridge freezer and a kick-space heater that runs off the central heating system.

The garden is a highlight, with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. From the dining room, double doors open onto a new decking area with Venetian fencing. The deck is large enough for outdoor dining and entertaining, and from here steps lead down to a lower level that feels particularly private and secluded, with a lawn surrounded by hedging and mature shrubs. The garden also has apple, cherry and bay trees (the cherry tree is self-pollinating), along with raspberries and blueberries. There are outdoor power sockets, and at the front of the house there is an outside tap.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, with the principal and second double at the front, both with long views. The bathroom is beautifully appointed, with a modern white suite, fresh white large-format wall tiles and matte black fittings, including a thermostatic shower over the bath with both rainfall and handheld shower heads. Built-in wardrobes feature in two of the bedrooms, and the bathroom includes a built-in cupboard for linen and toiletries. There is further storage on the ground floor in the cupboard under the stairs.

Peacehaven is a residential area nestled between the South Downs and the sea. This is a great area for families, with Telscombe Cliff and Peacehaven schools within walking distance and the seaside close by. On the corner of the South Coast Road and Rowe Avenue, there is a children’s play area with sea views from the picnic area. Peacehaven also has its own leisure centre, and just along the coast is the iconic Saltdean Lido withs its fantastic outdoor pool. Bus routes connect you to Brighton and Newhaven along the coast road.
