Location
Budleigh Salterton is one of Devon’ s most unspoilt and charming coastal towns, situated in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural beauty and towards the western end of the Jurassic Coast, which is a World Heritage Site.
Set between the larger towns of Exmouth and Sidmouth, the town lies within a beautiful bay, with a two-mile pebble beach and safe, clean bathing water . It is also at the mouth of the recently rewilded River Otter Estuary providing delightful walks and nature habitats.
There are many and varied local facilities, including shops and pubs, restaurants and beach cafes, a museum, seafront with level walking, medical centre and dental practice. There is a good selection of local clubs, including cricket, bowls, croquet, tennis and a golf club and annually there are music,
literary, food and jazz festivals.
Sherbrook Hill is in the favoured western end of the town, close to the golf club and a short walk from the clifftop coastal path and footpath down to the beach.
