Fego is always busy at the weekend for coffee and brunch, and The Bear, tucked further down the street, is a go-to for drinks in the garden. The Fairmile pub is just along the road and hosts a vintage sports car meet once a month - a lovely bit of local character.

The High Street is also genuinely useful, with Gail’s Bakery, Cobham Delicatessen, a long-standing family butcher, Cobham Bookshop, and Farrants - a brilliant all-round store for stationery, toys and gifts. There’s a large Sainsbury’s nearby too, and Kingston or Guildford are both an easy drive for more serious shopping.
