Wallsend has had a long and interesting history from the Roman times to present day. Wallsend fame did not stop there and became home 'The Wallsend Boys Club', which produced many famous football players such as Alan Shearer, Lee Clark, Steve Watson, Peter Beardsley, Robbie Elliott, Mick Tait and Michael Carrick and the town is also hometown and birthplace to internationally successful musician Sting.
