1. What attracted you to the property when you bought it? Sevenoaks is often voted as one of the best places to live in the UK, after Airbnbing here for a few weeks we loved the friendly atmosphere and natural spaces. We had recently welcomed our daughter into the world and did not want to raise her in London. We viewed dozens of properties, but fell in love this at first sight, making an offer on the spot due to:
Friendly neighbourhood - we have a road whatsapp group and do street parties on special occasions. When we first arrived one of the neighbours hosted a party where we met lots of nice locals, the group chat is active and supportive if you need anything.
Location - it’s a beautiful area to walkaround on a sunny day and has lots of local amenities, it has a beautify scenic route into the rear of Knole park via Blackhall Lane, its has several local parks we visit with our daughter, Bradbourne lakes and the wildlife reserve are 20 mins away and it’s easy to get into the high street.
Local pubs - the area has lots of amazing local child and dog friendly pubs. The rifleman is a few minutes walk and me and a few of the dads on the road occasionally head over for a game of pool and a pint, we love visiting the Bucks head when we have friend over for a walk through Knole park, its great to stop at the Chequers for a nice burger in a traditional pub when visiting the high street, we sometimes listen to local live music in the Anchor or take our daughter to the Bullfinch where she has plenty of room to play in the large garden.
The town is great for date nights the local theatre has live shows and a cinema and several of the local resturants have pre show deals. The local food offering is also amazing with multiple different cuisines and several great independant restuarants.
The markets - Sevenoaks is a market town and every saturday the high street has lots of stands offering local produce, bakers, cheeses and several products
Commute to London job - the trip to the station is close enough to get into London bridge in 45 mins.
Beautiful views - it's great to look at the north downs first thing in the morning.
House layout - the house layout is great downstairs we can open up the rooms with the sliding doors to let our daughter play while we cook, we love the new kitchen, it has lots of storage and feels very comfortable to cook. The living room is very cosy, we love a romantic movie or massage night with the fire on. We gave our daughter the largest room and she has plenty of space to play. We are in the second largest room and it has plenty of space for a Kingsize bed and large wardrobe, the third bedroom has sufficient space for a double bed.
Garden - it's very sunny, and the large open grass area gives our daughter ample space to run around and play, our cat Milo loves going out and in the summer we enjoy picking blackberries and apples.
What is the reason for the sale of the house ?
We had intended to make this our family home, however we have now decided to emigrate to Italy to be closer to my wifes family.
