The current owners, who have lived in the property for over a decade, say:
“This proved to be exactly the peaceful, semi-rural location with a convenient commute to London that we had been looking for a long time. While we had horses, it was the perfect place with acres of beautiful grazing land and immediate access to off-road hacking in Epping Forest and Warlies Park. After moving in, we built the extension to allow for the best views of the sunset and observing the abundance of wildlife around us, including a barn owl and many other birds of prey. We wanted to enjoy rural charm in a character property with a mature garden, while renovating our home to include all modern comforts, including an efficient and environmental heating system. We carefully considered every detail during the renovation process to ensure that, for example, the windows were aesthetically in keeping with the style of the property, while providing the best possible insulation. During lockdown years we were grateful to discover endless walks in the nearby countryside and forest land. We very much enjoy regular visits to our village pub, with excellent food and only a few minutes walk away.”
