What improvements have you made to the house?
The vendors have made a long list of improvements but felt these were the main ones of note.
We remodelled the ground floor to create an open plan living area. We opened up the utility and created a large family kitchen breakfast room.
We have installed new oak and parquet flooring on the ground floor.
Both bathrooms have been newly installed and an additional downstairs WC.
We made the driveway wider
Relocated the oil tank to the front and installed a new combi oil boiler which is large enough to withstand a loft conversion where the property can be made into a five-bedroom, three-bathroom house with the additional 65m2 floor space.
The house was built in 1961 and so to complement iconic era of design we installed Canadian cedar wood cladding across the front of the property.
The house has mature hedgerows at all its boundaries as well as mature walnut and apple trees.
**The things we have enjoyed about living there ? **
One of the main things we have enjoyed about living here and also the reason we bought the property, was the location. With Bedgbury pineatum, Bewl reservoir, national trust Scotney castle and heritage England Bayham abbey ruins all within a mile.
There is a 35-acre vineyard directly opposite for ideal dog walking and five pubs plus a shop and salon in the village.
One of the other lovely features has been the large south facing garden which has been great for children and entertaining and we have also loved the many red sky sunsets over the vineyard to the front of the property.
Transport
Main-line rail services into London Charing Cross, London Bridge and Cannon Street, can be found at nearby stations, Wadhurst and Frant which take approximately 50 minutes. By the road the A21 leading to the M25 and M20 offer easy access to all London airports, the south coast, Eurostar and channel ports.
