We purchased our home back in May 2023, which was the first home for my fiancée’ & I.
In terms of the house itself, the wide-entrance hallway & spacious living/dining room have been great for accommodating guests; with the French double doors in the living room nicely leading out to the patio garden area. Given the large garden size, we’ve been able to host multiple BBQs with family & friends, and with our driveaway accommodating 4-5 cars, it’s been easy for everyone to park – which has been very handy! Our kitchen has everything we needed, and we converted the under-stairs cupboard into a make-shift pantry area, given its deceptively large storage space!
Moving upstairs, the spacious bedrooms & built-in wardrobes in the Master have been great for storage, and we fully boarded the loft shortly after moving in which further added to the storage available.
The local area was one of the key selling points for us, with both Tesco (2-minute walk) & Sainsburys (15-minute walk) in easy walking distance, along with a parade of other more local shops nearby. Hook train station (5-minute walk) has also been super convenient with direct links into Waterloo and having the M3 motorway 2 miles down the road has been great for commuting. Finally, my fiancée & I got a puppy late last year (Cockapoo), so having the wide range of dog-friendly walking areas on our doorstep, from Hartlett’s Park to numerous Forest areas, has given us lots of options for our daily walks!
Chris's Comment:.
This is an ultra convenient location, as you can see from the video, it's right across the road from the Tesco's and the Station and most amenities are within a very short distance! The house itself is presented in great order and has a cracking plot being tucked away in a corner!
Area Comment:
Hook has two excellent schools, Hook Junior School & Hook Infants, which both then feed into Robert Mays Secondary School making it an ideal location for families with children of all ages. Additionally, the village has a variety of recreational parks, sports clubs, community centres, and is surrounded by countryside. Hook has a strong sense of community with regular events and festivals, providing ample opportunity for families to get involved and meet new people. The village centre has a doctors surgery, dental practice and a selection of independent shops and takeaways, in addition to three highly rated pub/restaurants (with others within easy reach). It's well connected to other nearby towns and villages via the A30, A287 and M3, plus has a railway station that goes direct to London Waterloo.
