SELLERS COMMENTS We have lived here for over 15 years and Kemerton Road has always felt like home. This property has always worked for our lives and it has been a huge wrench for us to leave both the house and our local community when we moved away from London.
The close proximity to Ruskin Park always meant that we had access to outside space and the house has worked well for family family life. Just simple things that we considered and designed for example the utility room enables washing and drying to be done away from the kitchen/living spaces, the pocket door into the en-suite saves space and connects the loft room on both sides of the house, the roof lights stream light into the stairwell, the bi-fold doors that open the back of the house create an inside-outside feel to the kitchen, rainwater storage for watering the garden and the garden lighting looks great from the kitchen at night.
The storage area at the front of the house with the growing roof shields from the pavement is great for bikes and scooters. We didn't move in with children and schools in mind but that wonderfully became our life and the feel of a local village school at the end of the road only added to the community around us. We have experienced nurseries playgrounds, dance and gym clubs all within walking distance - things that we took for granted but now that we have moved out of London just aren't so easy. Living here made life just a little easier.
We have so many friends, young and old, on surrounding roads, and this house has been a hub for friends and family to socialise.
Stretching wider than the immediate area there are so many places to explore in neighbouring areas like Brixton, Camberwell, Dulwich, Herne Hill and Peckham. We have spent hours in nearby parks like Dulwich and Brockwell or in two stops, on the over-ground from Loughborough Junction, we could be at Blackfriars and on the South Bank in a matter of minutes. I cycled to work in Farringdon daily - but a short walk to Brixton and you are the first stop on the Victoria line (good for getting a seat!). That said, it would always feel calming coming home as Kemerton Road is off the main road without through traffic and it, alongside neighbouring roads are residential. It really is a rare pocket in a busy world.
