The cottage lies on the west side of Heathfield and is about a 10 minute walk to the High Street. There is also a bus service just along the road which goes to the local secondary school, Heathfield Community College and into the local towns of Uckfield, Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne and a service to Etchingham main line station. Other stations are at Uckfield, Buxted, Crowborough and Stonegate 10/20 minutes drive.
